Illex Squid has a mild and a subtle sweetness taste with a firm and meaty texture. The meat has an opaque white color. Channel Seafoods International offers frozen whole squid in excellent condition. Our squid products are packed in blocks which are in heavy plastic. The seasonality varies around May through August. It is wild caught, using the jigger method. There are a variety of cooking methods for squid: baking, frying, grilling, or steaming.
Squid can be stuffed with chorizo sausages and feta cheese.
Defrost before cooking. To defrost product, keep in refrigerator overnight, or place under cold running water.
Keep product frozen until ready to use. Do not refreeze product.
