Mackerel has a rich, pronounced taste with a soft, flaky texture. It has a grayish color. Channel Seafoods International offers frozen, bones in, skin on, and tail on whole fish in excellent condition. Our mackerel products are individually quick frozen (IQF). The seasonality varies around August through October. It is wild caught, using the net caught method. There are a variety of cooking methods for mackerel: baking, broiling, grilling, or smoking.
Mackerel can be served with a tossed salad, rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables.
Defrost before cooking. To defrost product, keep in refrigerator overnight, or place under cold running water.
Keep product frozen until ready to use. Do not refreeze product.
