Catfish has a sweet and mild taste with a firm texture. It has a white to off-white, sometimes pink color. Catfish is an excellent source of high quality protein and can be used in a variety of preparations. Channel Seafoods International offers frozen, skinless/boneless fillets in excellent condition. Our catfish product is individually quick frozen (IQF). The seasonality varies from September through January. It is farm-raised, using the pond farming method. There are a variety of cooking methods for catfish: baking, broiling, grilling, frying, or sautéing.
Serving Suggestion:
Try a southern favorite, fried catfish fillets with coleslaw and hush puppies.
Defrosting:
Defrost before cooking. To defrost product, keep in refrigerator overnight, or place under cold running water.
Safe Handling:
Keep product frozen until ready to use. Do not refreeze product.
